Martín Acuña:
Hello, everyone. Welcome back to the Smooth Podcast! Today is a very special episode for us because we are introducing the newest member of our team, a new co-host. We have and we are really excited, Dani and I are really happy to introduce you to Ioannis Sintoris. He comes all the way from Greece and he will be joining us in the Smooth Podcast! Ioannis, thank you for joining our team, thank you for being here on the show and we cannot wait for you to tell us about yourself, and yeah, welcome to the Smooth Podcast!

Ioannis Sintoris:
Hello, Martín. Thanks for having me here. Hey, Daniela. I’m really excited and really happy to be a part of the podcast, and I’m really looking forward to, you know, record some new episodes and have fun.

Martín Acuña:
Yeah, I agree. We will have a lot of fun. So, Ioannis, first, tell us a little bit about yourself, who you are, and yeah, just that for now.

Ioannis Sintoris:
Yeah. So I’m currently working as a personal trainer. I have more than 5 years of experience. My main goal is to assist people to accomplish their body goals. Everyone has one, and the most difficult thing is to begin. This is why personal trainers exist, you know, to help people give them that extra boost they need. As part of my hobbies, I love listening to music, at the gym, when I’m cooking, when I’m walking, you know, you, you just, I believe that you just can’t go wrong with music, you just can’t go wrong with that. A lot of my time that I have during the day, I try to focus more on my work but other than that, I try to incorporate some small walks throughout the day with some friends of mine, get some conversation in, relax, and I also love, love, love reading books, you know. I believe that we live in a time where anything can be found online, you know, whether it be books, articles, videos, encyclopedias, you know, especially books. I believe, I really do believe it’s one of the greatest investments someone can do, you know, for, for himself.

Martín Acuña:
I love that. And I would ask you, like right now, top of your mind, which is the best book you’ve read lately?

Ioannis Sintoris:
Yeah. So that’s a difficult question because I’ve read a lot of good books lately, but one that I would like definitely place it in the top of the list is about Elon Musk’s latest book, you know, I love this guy, I really admire his work, the sacrifices he’s made, everything. And we have a lot of common, for example, he studied electrical engineering, and I’m currently studying electrical engineering as well. I’m a student at the university and yeah, I love this subject, I love, you know, I’m, I’m really keen on writing code, you know, programming language is something that I love, and yeah, this book also inspired me, you know, to continue pursuing my dreams.

Daniela Perea:
And Ioannis, where was that point where you said, OK, I’m a personal trainer, this is something I love because we all know, you guys, if you saw Ioannis and, and you met him, he’s a, he’s super passionate about his work as a, as a personal trainer. Where, where when, like in all this journey, you decided like, hey, I’m going to pursue engineering now?

Ioannis Sintoris:
Yeah. So I’m currently studying electrical engineering because this is what I am aiming for the future, this is what I want to become. I want to become an electrical engineer. This is my main goal, whereas personal training is something that I have as a side hustle, a hobby because I really believe that having more than one source of income is something that everyone has to have because, you know, if my job doesn’t go well and I have to, like to abandon it or to start something new, then I am like jobless from one moment to another. So having that extra side hustle to keep yourself productive, meet with people and earn a bit more, you know, to increase your stipend as well each month, I, I really do believe that it’s something very important, and this is why I also got myself into it.

Martín Acuña:
And that’s amazing because that’s one of, that’s also a reason why you’re joining the Smooth Podcast because you have your training things, you have your engineering stuff, and also being a podcast host is another ball game, it’s another, another field of growth and a lot of things you can learn about this, so, I wanted to ask you, what are you most excited about becoming a podcast host?

Ioannis Sintoris:
What do you mean? I am excited about everything! You know, I really want to communicate with people and exchange, you know, opinions and ideas. I’m really waiting for to see how other people think, you know, their mindset, what they have to offer to the show. I also want to see how they can apply, what they learn, what they’ve learned so far in their lives, to their businesses, to themselves, you know, to become better because these are the things that can also make me wiser and, you know, broaden my, my horizons as well, learn more things, and I always wanted to participate in a podcast show, so I really believe that this is the chance to do it, and yeah, I’m also very happy because I know that this podcast has a lot of upcoming series, and listeners should definitely know that because we have a lot to offer in the near future, and, yeah, exciting things are coming, and generally, you know, I like to integrate other people’s advice and ideas and work ethic into my everyday life. Of course, you know, there are some things that I might not be, like totally, I might not totally agree with, but overall, yeah, it’s going to be fun and I’m excited.

Martín Acuña:
And that is going to be great, I know that, and as you say, just sharing stories and talking to people, it’s a game-changer and just putting our thoughts and their thoughts out there, it’s just another way of communicating and I would guess in some sort manifesting things into the world.

Ioannis Sintoris:
Yeah, yeah. Because you know what? We are like creatures that want to live in a society. We just can’t sit there alone. We want to communicate with others, we want to exchange opinions, ideas, you know, we want to talk about our day, we want to talk about our everyday lives, this is what we do.

Martín Acuña:
Exactly.

Daniela Perea:
Ioannis, I noticed that when you were talking about yourself, you, you went all, how do you say that, like corporate? So you were talking about what you do and how you came to us, but you never told us, like, where do you live? How old are you? Those kind of things we don’t know about you. So where do you live? How old are you? Who do you live with? Like, what, how does your life look like?

Ioannis Sintoris:
Yeah, I never mentioned these, kind of, before because I always thought they were boring but yeah.

Daniela Perea:
No, they’re not.

Ioannis Sintoris:
Since you asked, I like the, that you are interested in. And so, yeah, I’m like a 20-year-old guy. I know I look like I’m older, but I’m not. I’m 20 years old. I currently live in Greece but my goal is to like, sometime I really want to change places, change environment, landscape, and I want to move on to a different country, that maybe could be USA, I don’t know, you know, it’s good to have dreams. And yeah, my, my everyday life is, as you expected it to be, like gym, work, eat, sleep, repeat. Yeah, I don’t usually go out that much and when I do, it will be either with my girlfriend, my pretty girlfriend Emma, or with like a friend of mine very closely or a very close related one because I do believe that spending time with your favorite ones is very important, and it is, as I would say, a deposit to the emotional bank.

Daniela Perea:
I love that phrase!

Martín Acuña:
I do too. We should all have and be conscious of how much do we have in our emotional banks. Wow!

Daniela Perea:
That got deep real quick.

Martín Acuña:
Yeah. Yeah, that escalated quickly and got deep really quick!

Daniela Perea:
Oh my god, well, Ioannis it was really good. Well, people, this guy, it’s amazing and you’re going to hear so much about him in the future. He’s joining our Smooth Podcast team, especially because he wants to learn a lot. So if you have any comments on his upcoming recordings, if you have anything you want to tell him, just reach out to us as you always do and let him know what you think about his, his job and how well, I know he’s going to do well, but how well is he doing because that’s, that’s encouraging, and Ioannis it’s so good to have you here.

Ioannis Sintoris:
Thank you, Daniela, and thank you, Martín, for this opportunity and this great interview. I’m, I’m really waiting to see what this podcast has to offer to the listeners because I really do think that it’s going to scale up very quickly. So, yeah, the next episodes, something that no one wants, wants to miss out.
